Hear ye, hear ye! The Baton Rouge Maker Faire returns to the Main Library at Goodwood on Saturday, October 17, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This year, we’re “Getting Medieval With It!”Get ready for a full day of making, creating, experimenting and medieval fun! Joust on a snail, launch a trebuchet, dance around a maypole and watch armored warriors demonstrate medieval battle techniques. Enjoy music from roving bards, create celestial signs and wonders, and discover the skills and crafts of centuries past.
There’s even more to make and see! Learn about mead and soap making, try your hand at chainmail, discover the colorful world of illuminated manuscripts, watch a stained glass demonstration, and learn about medieval kite shields while creating one of your own.
Maker Faire brings together engineers, artists, scientists, crafters, hobbyists and other curious creators to share what they make and inspire others to create something of their own.
Baton Rouge Maker Faire is FREE and open to the public!
