n this one day beginners adult workshop you will create a beautiful berry basket, or foraging basket, while learning how to weave a round 3×3 base, upstake and weave up the sides of your basket using various weaving techniques, turn down the uprights to make a border and attach a handle. A choice of buff and brown willow will be available for the various parts of the basket.This workshop will be taught by Elaine Blackett-Ord and Jo Foster from the Eden Valley Basketry Group, part of Northumbria Basketry Group, a volunteer organisation which recently won a King’s Award for Voluntary Service.
Tools and all materials will be provided and we will be there to assist you at every stage.
Examples of baskets will be available.
