NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting + Virginia CCW
Join us at Silver Eagle Group for practical pistol training designed to help you build the knowledge, skills, and confidence to handle a firearm safely and responsibly. This course is ideal for first-time shooters as well as experienced shooters looking for a structured refresher to strengthen their fundamentals and improve accuracy — while completing the training needed for a Virginia Concealed Handgun Permit application.
This course covers:
- Firearm safety rules and procedures
- Safe firearm handling and storage
- Shooting fundamentals
- Virginia concealed carry laws, rights, and responsibilities
- Firearm cleaning and maintenance
- Range etiquette and safe range procedures
Whether you’re brand-new to firearms or brushing up on the fundamentals, you’ll receive professional instruction in a supportive, safety-focused environment designed to help you build skills, confidence, and a strong foundation for responsible firearm ownership.
Course format:
- 6.5 hours classroom instruction, followed by range qualification
- No live ammunition is allowed in the classroom
Ammunition & rentals:
- Students will need a firearm, eye and ear protection, and one box of 9mm or .40 caliber ammunition
- Firearms, eye protection, and ear protection are available to rent at the range
Certificate:
Students will receive the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook and a course completion certificate that may be used when applying for a Virginia Concealed Handgun Permit.
