By the end of this Basic Life Support classroom-based course, learners will be able to:

• Summon emergency help promptly in line with local procedures
• Explain the importance of national resuscitation guidance and local policy
• Start CPR promptly and perform effective chest compressions with correct depth, rate and recoil
• Deliver rescue breaths safely where trained and appropriate
• Use an AED safely and follow device prompts
• Respond appropriately to adult choking
• Place an unconscious breathing adult safely in the recovery position

• This Basic Life Support Level 2 course is externally reviewed and accredited by the CPD Certification Service (CPDUK).
• On successful completion, you will be able to download a digital CPD certificate from your ComplyPlus™ LMS account.
• The certificate is valid for 1 year unless refresher training is required earlier.
• Earlier refresher training may be required where there are changes to legislation, Resuscitation Council UK guidance, employer policy, equipment, working practices, risk assessment, learner role, workplace risks or identified competence requirements.

The centre is located within Coventry University Technology Park, close to Coventry city centre and Coventry railway station, with free on-site parking available for learners.

Practical sessions are delivered in small groups using relevant Basic Life Support training equipment, including CPR manikins, AED trainers and supporting assessment resources.

We also offer group Basic Life Support training courses for organisations at their own premises, subject to venue suitability, location, risk assessment, availability of suitable equipment and trainer availability.
