About this Event
Community Corner is a service run by the NHS aiming to combat social isolation and help people to live well in their communities. We are teaming up with Hammersmith Community Gardens who are providing a free 5-week gardening course at the Violet Melchett Health and Wellbeing Hub.
Join us in our wonderful, newly restored courtyard garden to learn about gardening! A great opportunity to build some skills and also benefit from taking some time to be in nature and connect with members of the local community.

Please note that buying a ticket here does not guarentee you a space on this course as there are limited spaces and criteria as outlined below.
Please note that our garden is wheelchair accessible!
Topics include:
- Seed sowing - how, when and where
- Sustainable gardening - composting / collecting water / upcycling
- Gardening for wildlife - Making a bird feeder / bird houses etc.
- Befriending weeds - What are weeds? how to control them/benefits of weeds
- Making a window sill planter to take home
- Possible trip to Kew Gardens (or at home alternative)
Course Requirements:
- No prior experience necessary
- For adults aged 19+ only
- Participants must attend every week (5 weeks)
- This course is funded by Kensington and Chelsea Adult Learning Service, you will need to complete an enrolment form & provide your National Insurance Number.
- You must be a resident of RBKC and have the right to work or study in the UK.
- You can only study on one RBKC funded course per academic year with us (HCGA).
