At just 29 years old, Alyssa Callahan is battling Dedifferentiated Chondrosarcoma (DDCS), a rare, high-grade, and highly aggressive bone cancer that developed from Multiple Hereditary Exostoses (MHE), a genetic bone disorder she was born with. In June 2026, she underwent complex surgery at Duke Cancer Center, where portions of three ribs, part of her diaphragm, and the tumor were removed, followed by chest wall reconstruction, with clear surgical margins. Unfortunately, a PET scan just weeks later revealed nodules in both lungs, with a nodule in her right lung confirmed as metastatic cancer. Alyssa is now undergoing aggressive chemotherapy with Doxorubicin and Cisplatin for three consecutive days every 21 days, with the goal of completing four cycles. Before chemotherapy, she also underwent fertility preservation, resulting in 12 precious eggs, while she and her husband, Eric, face the emotional and financial challenges of ongoing treatment, specialized care, and related expenses. 100% of the proceeds from the evening will go directly to Alyssa and Eric Callahan.
