Come one, come all good gentles! Yule is fast approaching, and with that we invite you to come enjoy the festivities. We will be having a Celtic theme this year. We're lucky to have Aquaterra's own Oz Von Baekyn designing and preparing our glorious feast. What tasty treats will she present to us? Of course Bardic and A&S championships will be happening. What stories and beauty will we see and hear? As per tradition the dessert auction will be continuing with our donations going to Skagit Valley Humane Society. An amazing choice showcasing the kindness of our Baron and Baroness. Bring your best baked goods! The person with the highest selling goodie shall receive a delightful prize. The silent auction will be happening, too. Please feel free to donate and bid, for the profits from this support An Tir’s Ravens travel fund. There will be some new fun too, such as medieval bingo and best dressed table competition. Yes, there will be prizes!!! We will be taking some time to honor and celebrate Lóft Jólgeirson’s being the newest Chivalry Vigilant. We hope to see you all there to enjoy the feast, the camaraderie of friends, family, and some new friends, too.

Bardic Championship Information:
RULES FOR IF YOU WIN
1) Be Prepared to BRING THE FUN
a) Where ever you go, try and do at least ONE THING that spreads joy. (Tell a joke, lead a dance, teach a silly game (Gurning comes to mind). Whistle a happy tune.
b) State loudly and proudly that you are the Bardic Champion of the Great and Mighty Barony of Aquaterra!
2) Wear the Regalia PROUDLY. (and try really, really hard not to lose it).
3) Be the Champion, encourage Bardic Arts (and there are DOZENS AND DOZENS of them) as you can.
4) Show up at the event to choose your successor and help run the contest. Hand over the Regalia. Be a Bard.
Now, HOW DO I COMPETE TO BE CHAMPION???
A) Show Up at Aquaterra Good Yule DECEMBER 5, 2026
B ) Tell me you are entering.
C) Tell me WHAT you are doing to satisfy the CHALLENGES OF A BARD for C-1, C-2, & C-3!
C-1) Do some sort of Bardic "THING" (™) that makes people joyful! Like, teaching a dance or just play or sing or clap a jaunty song. Teach a MayPole (just a suggestion).
C-2) Do some sort of Bardic "THING" (™) that helps relieve tension, shed a tear, touch feelings. (Lullaby, Story, Song, Tune, Poem...)
C-3) There will be an Improvisational Challenge. I will have a BUCKET OF MYSTERY there with many strange, arcane, and odd objects in it. You may pick 2 or 3 objects and make up a song, story, tune, tale, ... using those objects. Have fun.
Bardic is like a LARGE Day Shade and can accommodate MANY an activity. You are free to PM me for ideas, for that, too, is part of a Bard's job, to seek out information, research, and ask good questions.
The MAIN THINGS being looked for are:
CONNECTION with the Audience. BE Your Persona and make the Audience feel SEEN.
VERSATILITY of Performance Style (one _can_ play pennywhistle for all their entries, but if you can also do a speech, lead a dance, tell a story, etc., that is even better.)
Bring the JOY! Try something New-ish. Have FUN!
In service to Crown, Coronet, and the Barony of Aquaterra.
