Join MCPAWS on Saturday, September 19 for our next Bark Country Explorers adventure at Ponderosa State Park! This time, we're inviting our amazing volunteers to become an Explorer and take one of our adoptable dogs on the Peninsula Trail for a 4+ mile adventure through the beautiful forests and along Payette Lake.
We'll meet at MCPAWS at 10:00 AM to pick up our hiking buddies before heading out to Ponderosa State Park.
But this isn't just a hike.
It's enrichment.
It's confidence-building.
It's real-world training.
It's a chance to see a dog's personality outside of the shelter.
And it could be the adventure that helps someone see their future best friend in a whole new way.
Each participating volunteer will be paired with an MCPAWS dog for the adventure. Along the way, you'll have the opportunity to practice skills, explore new environments, and simply enjoy some quality time together.
Want to help but aren't comfortable handling a dog? We've got a place for you too! We'll need volunteers for photography, trail support, and helping make the day a success.
This is Bark Country Explorers.
Not just a walk.
Not just a hike.
An adventure for shelter dogs — and the people who believe in them.
