About this Event
Founded on April 13, 1976 by Italy’s Zonin family, Barboursville Vineyards stands among the East Coast’s most historic and celebrated wine estates. Nestled in the foothills of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains between Monticello and Montpelier, the winery occupies the historic Barbour estate, where the evocative ruins of the Jefferson-designed mansion remain following an 1884 fire. Under the long-standing leadership of winemaker Luca Paschina, Barboursville unites centuries of Italian winemaking heritage with Virginia terroir, crafting wines that have helped define the Commonwealth’s modern wine renaissance.
We are incredibly excited to be welcoming Luca Paschina to the Vermilion dining room for a four-course meal paired with the award winning wines of Barboursville Vineyards. Luca Paschina is a third generation winemaker from Alba, Italy. After working in Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Napa Valley, and Finger Lakes, he moved and settled in Virginia in 1990 to manage the Barboursville Vineyards Estate. During his tenure, the estate has won over 2,000 awards in national and international wine competitions. For over thirty years of winemaking at Barbousveille, he has developed a unique style of winemaking that integrates the soil and climate of virginia.
