About this Event
Learn practical skills. Build confidence. Feel more prepared. 💪
Barbelles is teaming up with 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Nashville for a hands-on women’s self-defense workshop designed to help you feel stronger, more aware, and more confident in real-world situations.
During this workshop, you’ll learn practical Jiu-Jitsu-based self-defense techniques that focus on leverage and body mechanics—not size or strength. We’ll cover escaping common grabs, protecting yourself if you’re knocked to the ground, safely escaping from bottom positions, and developing greater situational awareness.
This class is designed to be approachable and supportive, whether you’ve never stepped on a mat before or already have some experience.
What you’ll learn:
- How to use leverage and body mechanics against a larger opponent
- Techniques for escaping common grabs
- Ground defense and safely escaping from bottom positions
- Practical ways to improve situational awareness
- Skills to help you feel more confident and prepared
No experience necessary. All fitness levels are welcome, and you don’t need to be “strong” or athletic to participate.
Come ready to learn, move, ask questions, and have fun alongside a supportive community of women.
