Banshee Tree is an indie psychedelic pop/rock band with sharply-written songs, jazz-inspired guitar solos, saxophone textures, and grooves that nod to the dance floor, they've spent nearly a decade evolving their sound. That fusion reaches a new peak with Bad Luck, a restless and apologetically diverse album that captures a celebrated band chasing down new horizons.
The Squash Blossom Boys started out in 2001 as a bunch of best friends trying to make loud noises in a garage... and somehow, people started showing up. Back then, it was more rock than roots, more feedback than fiddle. But somewhere around 2005, a mandolin wandered in, a banjo showed up uninvited, and we found ourselves knee-deep in bluegrass and country - and we’ve never looked back.
Since then, we’ve hauled our instruments across dusty backroads, beer-soaked bars, and festival stages big and small.
Over the years, the good folks at Weekly Alibi have been kind enough to name us Best Band in Albuquerque more than once, but our favorite award is still seeing boots tapping, kids dancing, and cold beers sweating in the crowd.
At our core, we’re still just a band of friends chasing the same thing we started with - good songs, good company, and the kind of nights you don’t want to end...
