Banned Books Read-In

Bring your favorite banned or challenged book, or pick one up from our shelves, then find a cozy spot somewhere around the store and settle in for some uninterrupted reading.

Stop by anytime between 4:30–6:00 PM to check in, find your reading nook, and read for at least 30 minutes.

Once you’ve completed your 30 minutes, head back to the front desk to receive one free audiobook from and an exclusive Birdie Banned Books pin to take home!

Come for a few pages or stay for the whole event. Read alone, read with friends, and spend a little time celebrating the freedom to choose what stories we get to read.

How it works:

1. Bring a banned/challenged book, or choose one from Birdie’s shelves.
2. Check in at the front desk between 4:30–6:00 PM.
3. Find a cozy spot anywhere around the store.
4. Read for at least 30 minutes.
5. Check back in at the front desk to receive your free Libro.fm audiobook and Birdie exclusive pin.

Enjoy an evening of books, cozy corners, and the freedom to read.
