Join us on the first day of Banned Books Week for a community Banned Books Read-In celebrating the freedom to read, the power of stories, and our right to access books.
We’ll spend the day gathering in and around the shop with a variety of ways to get involved—including an audiobook walk around the 15th & 15th neighborhood from 10:30 am-11 am, where you can listen to a banned book while taking a stroll.
We’ll have postcards available for writing to your elected representatives and making your voice heard in support of the freedom to read.
BookTalkSLC and The Vibrant Book Club will lead a creative banned-books-themed craft. Check out their monthly banned book club! Come connect with fellow readers who are passionate about protecting access to stories and ideas. And thanks to our friends at Libro.fm, the event’s sponsor, you’ll be able to grab a free audiobook that day—perfect for joining the audiobook walk or continuing your banned-book reading at home.
