Join us at Francis Martin Library for a literary cafe experience. Engage in a creative space and explore challenged and banned books through art, conversation, and reading.
What to Expect
- Free Audiobook: Attendees will get a free audiobook that they can listen to during the cafe (headphones required).
- Lit Conversation: Check out the conversation corners and explore what reading means to you.
- Op-Ed Writing Workshop: Compose a letter about the impact of reading your life and learn how to submit to it to a publication.
- Artivism: Create your own Banned Book Week Poster and Pins to show off your love of reading.
- Refreshments: Enjoy refreshments while you read or listen to a book.

Info: You've heard of a sit-in or sit-down is a form of direct action that involves one or more people occupying an area for a protest. Come and Read-In at Francis Martin Library. We will have challenged and banned books available for you to read and discuss. Your use and engagement with these texts furthers equal access, free expression, and systemic change
