Modern heavy metal outfit Banks Arcade have announced their return home to New Zealand for three exclusive end of year Christmas shows this December. Joining them on all dates are Australian rock powerhouse Melrose Avenue.
The tour caps off a massive trajectory for Banks Arcade. Earlier this year, the band kicked off 2026 supporting heavyweights The Plot in You across their sold out Australian tour. They followed the run with the release of their latest studio album, Second Place Superstar, which debuted at #3 on the ARIA Charts. The momentum carried the group across the globe, completing two separate European and UK festivals and headline tours within a twelve-month span.
The upcoming New Zealand dates mark the band’s first local shows since the album’s release. Sets will span material from their entire catalogue alongside the debut of brand new tracks from Second Place Superstar.
Joining the bill, Melrose Avenue arrived in New Zealand following a standout year of international growth. Driven by their hit single "Suffocate," which surpassed 10 million streams, the Melbourne based group completed sold out runs across both Europe and North America, establishing themselves as one of Australia’s fastest-rising rock exports.
"We love travelling the world playing music, but we are a kiwi band and there's no place like home baby" says Banks Arcade vocalist Joshua O'Donnell.
"We’ve spent the last twelve months touring across Europe and Australia, refining this set to be the absolute highest energy version of Banks Arcade. Bringing these songs back to NZ alongside Melrose Avenue is going to make these nights unforgettable."
