Kota Bonga, born José Adelino Barceló de Carvalho, is one of the most influential figures in contemporary African music. With more than five decades of international career, he brought Semba to the biggest stages across Europe, Africa, and the Americas, becoming a true ambassador of Angolan culture worldwide.
His voice has crossed generations, inspired cultural movements, and preserved the roots and identity of the Angolan people through music.
Since the very first conception of the Bangologia Festival five years ago, there was one clear dream:
