About this Event
Please join us for an afternoon as we visit 8 Baltimore City Cooperatives.
We're start at Red Emma's at 12pm and board the bus to head over to our first stop at Common Ground Cafe Cooperative and then take a short walk over to Metta Integrative Wellness Cooperative and then to The Wine Source. We'll hop back on the bus and then arrive at the Taharka Brothers factory to learn about how the ice cream is made! We will then head out to WaterBottle Coop to learn about their unique approach to renovating abandoned homes in West Baltimore. Then we will go visit the worker owners at Ceremony Piercing to tour their beautiful space, look at jewlery, and maybe even get a new piercing if you're feeling adventurous! Finally we'll head over to Mera Kitchen Collective for a Cooperative Month happy hour.
At each stop we'll hear from several of their worker-owners about their origins, their model, and any important lessons they've learned as democratic workplaces.
There are three ticket levels available:
$30 (Just the ride!)
$45 (Ride, plus boxed lunch!)
$60 (Ride, boxed lunch, and a drink ticket for the Happy Hour at Mera Kitchen)
The bus will head back to Red Emma's at 5pm, but you're welcome to stay later at Mera and take other transportation back to our origin point.
