Do you enjoy baking and would like to bring warmth and cheer to someone with food insecurity this Thanksgiving season? On Tuesday, November 24th and Wednesday, November 25th, between 8am and 3pm, the Dining Room at FOOD for Lane County is accepting individually wrapped homemade treat donations. The Dining Room is asking that treats be in bags with 1-3 treats (depending on how big they are) but they CANNOT ACCEPT anything wrapped in Aluminum foil. PLASTIC or WAX bags ONLY. When you bring them to the Dining Room you can stay in your car and pull into the alley off of Charleston and Lincoln. A staff member will meet you by your car. There will be 300-400 people with food insecurity being served a Thanksgiving meal so spread the word in hopes that we can get a homemade treat to each person and family. These homemade gestures really brighten their spirits. Again the Dining Room is accepting donations from 8am-3pm on Tuesday, November 24th and Wednesday, November 25th. If you use peanuts please label your individually wrapped plastic or wax bags as such.
