Fuck YeahAbout this Event
Bad Mothers Union is a force of nature masquerading as a band.
Established in Kilkenny, the experimental psychedelic group creates feral walls of sound and meandering dreamy paths, and subscribes to the philosophy of repetition, repetition, repetition.
Earlier this year, Bad Mothers Union released their debut record, Sore Losers, which draws influence from krautrock, shoegaze, post-punk, hardcore, jazz, post-rock and noise rock to create “an immersive atmosphere that gently commands complete surrender.” Praised for its “sheer nofucksgiven audacity” by Andy Cairns of Therapy?, Sore Losers has since been named as one of The Quietus’ Albums of the Year So Far 2026.
They don’t “subscribe to anything customary,” according to The Goo, and eschew the standard approach to membership, acting instead as a collective that thrives on collaboration and idiosyncrasies.
The band currently features Conor Kavanagh (vocals/guitar/bass), Joel Pitcher (bass/guitar), Fionn O’Sullivan (bass/guitar/vocals) and James O’Neill (drums/percussion).
Freak Pointing are a Dublin-based rock band formed in 2020, combining influences from hard rock, grunge, heavy metal, and folk into a fresh, distinctive sound, identifiable by vocal hooks, candid lyrics, and tastefully distorted guitars. What began as a covers project quickly morphed into a more creative endeavour, with original songs like live favourite “Stuck” and early Bandcamp release “Joke” signifying the band's shift toward sharp, catchy originals.
After several personnel changes, the band cemented their sound with a steady line-up in late 2023. From April 2024, the band began playing regular live shows, comprised mainly of original material. In early 2025, “Stuck” and “Vainglorious” were released on streaming platforms, with the recording session for “Vainglorious” being filmed for an eventual promotional video.
The band went on to record four tracks at Mobius Studios, Bray, in October 2025, forming the basis of the “Too Tall To See The Moon” EP. Now having received radio play in Ireland and the US, Freak Pointing continue to hone their craft on live stages.
TurfBoy formed in November 2012, by Colin Kelly, Ollie Mortimer and Tony Carberry, out of a mutual love for 90's alternative music... January of 2013 saw the trio joined by guitarist, Conor Walls, and immediately, more than ever before, the band could feel that they were on to something special. In late 2014, Tony left the band and was succeeded by León Ó Gríofa, formally of 24 Broken Amps. They've been wrecking the gaff ever since.
Coming from different parts of Ireland; Longford/Roscommon/Mayo-Galway/Wicklow, to be exact; the band is based in Dublin City, and is most often found playing shows there.
After the release of two studio EPs, a live acoustic EP and a collection of some of the unused tracks from these sessions, 2020 sees Turfboy releasing their debut album "At Tension" on Horn & Hoof Records Manchester, pushing the boundaries of their soundscape, and really making the best of all of their different influences and techniques.
