A Community Gathering at Quindaro Community Center focusing on Housing, Recovery & Building Our FutureOur homes are more than buildings. They are the foundation of our families, our neighborhoods, and our ability to build something lasting. Before the August storms, Northeast KCK was already navigating important questions about housing availability, homeownership, and how we create opportunities for residents to stay and thrive in the communities they call home. The storm has brought new urgency to these conversations, adding immediate needs for repairs and recovery to the longer-term work of building a stronger housing future.
This month's Back to the Center brings together builders, housing partners, and planning professionals to explore the full picture of housing in our community—from repairing storm-damaged homes to expanding housing opportunities and understanding the policies that shape what can be built.
Together, we'll look at what recovery is teaching us, what opportunities exist today, and how thoughtful planning can help create neighborhoods where residents can put down roots, build equity, and shape the future of their community.
