About this Event
The BAAL Language and New Media SIG and BAAL Health Communication SIG are pleased to announce our 2024 joint seminar entitled Digital Health Communication, taking place on 24th May 2024 at Queen Mary, University of London. The seminar addresses and discusses our shared interests across health communication and digital media. Our aim is to foster dialogue between researchers in both fields, share relevant findings across both areas, and encourage future collaborations.
Full schedule and programme TBC, but topics of talks may include:
- Methodological approaches to researching digital health communication
- Linguistic analysis of forums with health-related topics
- Representations of health and illness in social media discourses
- Use and design of health and/or wellness applications on mobile phones
- Digital communities around illnesses or chronic conditions
- Digital interactions and digital tools in healthcare
- Digital discourses around wellness
