B.4.L – The Environmental Justice Army
A Community Film Screening & Conversation
Join us as we collaborate with Recycle Reinvest for a special community screening of the film:
B.4.L – The Environmental Justice Army, a powerful documentary rooted in Nashville’s Hip Hop culture and the people leading the fight for environmental justice from the ground up. More than a film screening, this gathering is an opportunity to come together around culture, community, environmental justice, and collective action.
About the Film
B.4.L – The Environmental Justice Army spotlights Nashville’s Hip Hop-rooted environmental justice movement through the voices of artists, organizers, community leaders, and residents working to create change in their own neighborhoods.
The documentary explores how culture, conscience, and collective action intersect to confront environmental racism, reclaim neglected land, strengthen communities, and create pathways for youth leadership.
At its heart, B.4.L shows what becomes possible when communities are empowered to organize, create, serve, and tell their own stories.
This is Hip Hop as service. Activism as art. Community as strategy.
About the Filmmaker
Jaffee Judah is a Nashville-born community leader, environmental advocate, and filmmaker whose storytelling grows directly from the communities he serves.
As Co-Founder and Executive Director of , Judah has spent years turning environmental justice into grassroots action—organizing residents, developing youth leaders, reclaiming neglected spaces, and using Hip Hop and culture as tools for meaningful change.
His debut documentary, B.4.L – The Environmental Justice Army, brings that work to the screen through an intimate, community-led lens. The film documents the voices, struggles, resilience, and leadership of people fighting for healthier neighborhoods and a more just future.
Judah's work is grounded in a simple but powerful belief: the people closest to the challenges should also have the power to tell their own stories.
We invite community members, artists, advocates, educators, young people, organizers, and anyone interested in the intersection of Hip Hop, environmental justice, storytelling, and community power to experience this film together.
Come to watch. Come to listen. Come to connect. And come ready to imagine what environmental justice can look like when community leads the way.
