Advanced Dutch (De Finale Chapter 1-4)
Join our B2 part 1 Dutch course when you can already use your Dutch quite a bit, but want to expand your conversation topics and use more elaborate sentence structures. This course is intended for students who finished the B1 courses. It’s also a perfect preparation for the Staatsexamen II.
We make sure to have an enjoyable mix of speaking activities, vocabulary building, improving listening skills and grammar. Writing exercises are usually homework. You can send them to the teacher for correction and we also discuss them in class.
What do I learn in this course?
After completing this course, you know how to use:
• compound words
• conjunctions (hoewel, nadat, terwijl, hoewel)
• signalling words (zo, anders, daarom)
• relative subclauses (het boek dat, de man die, de weg waar)
• perfectum, imperfectum and pluscuamperfectum
• main sentence, inversion, clausal sentence structures
• passive voice
• reflexive verbs
• imperative
After this course, you’re able to discuss and use vocabulary of the following topics:
• being happy
• society
• nature and landscapes
• food culture and healthy eating
• tourism trends
• work and the economy
After this course, you’re able to:
• give and ask for advice about trips, projects or purchases
• discuss the pros and cons of a plan or proposal
• state your preference
• make comparisons
• talk about charts and graphs
• describe statistical figures
