Aynsley picked up a guitar at eight and taught himself by playing along to his dad's Hendrix, Cream and Fleetwood Mac records, inspired by Peter Green, Albert King, Eric Clapton and Paul Kossoff. He was playing bars at 13 and had his first band at 18. He then signed to Ruf Records, recording his debut with Jim Gaines, the producer who worked with Stevie Ray Vaughan.
He made seven albums and two DVDs for Ruf, and since 2013 he has released a run of acclaimed records on his own Straight Talkin' Records label.
