Come celebrate the Holiday Season with your family and TCT!Away In The Basement is the first festive installment of the popular Church Basement Ladies musical comedy series by Greta Grosch (Book) and Drew Jansen (Music and Lyrics).
In December, 1959, the East Cornucopia Lutheran Church of the Prairie, located in Minnesota, is preparing for the Sunday School Christmas program The 3 mavens of the church basement kitchen (Karin, Mavis, and Vivian), along with Karin's teenage daughter Beverly and the widowed church leader, Pastor Gunderson, must prepare goodie bags, handle the kitchen duties, and save the day as the annual Christmas program descends into chaos!
Hilarity ensues as the group of 5 handle the program preparations. As they work throughout the day, the ladies share gossip (has the new parish worker caught Pastor Gunderson's eye?) - debate church politics (which kids should have been versus were cast as Mary and Joseph) - honor the kitchen matriarch, Vivian - and hilariously recount disasters from holidays past.
Away In The Basement is directed by Steve Dietrich and Jenny Weber, with backstage assistance from Xander Magill, and features:
