About this Event
Join Awaken Collective on October 24 for a Community Work & Learn experience at Soul Fire Farm!
Guided by the spirit of “Each One, Teach One. Many Hands Make Light Work,” we will spend the day learning about Soul Fire Farm’s farming practices, supporting their work, and getting our hands on the land.
This meaningful experience offers an opportunity to connect with nature, learn through service, and build community. Soul Fire Farm will also provide a gluten-free, plant-based meal.
Your $60 ticket contribution includes round-trip group transportation from Jersey City, snacks, a meal, and trip coordination provided by Awaken Collective.
We will also raffle a copy of , a practical guide written by Leah Penniman—farmer, activist, and co-founder of Soul Fire Farm in Grafton, New York. The book addresses the steep decline of Black-owned farmland and racial inequalities within agriculture. It brings modern sustainable farming practices together with the deep historical and agricultural wisdom of the African Diaspora, helping African-heritage growers reclaim their place, dignity, and sovereignty in the food system.
Space is limited, so please register only if you can stay for the entire day. We gather rain or shine—come prepared to work outdoors, get your hands dirty, and experience the power of community!
