Derek Shama
Co-Founder and President - sparkAV

Derek's industry experience dates back prior to 2000. Prior to AV, he rose through the ranks in both financial services and fashion. Since the inception of sparkAV, Derek has worked to grow the company into Canada's leading ProAV design and integration organization. In large part, this was accomplished by holding true to a basic core value - treat people with respect and help them achieve their goals.
Derek holds P&L responsibility for sparkAV, while also working closely with key customers. He personally oversees the customer satisfaction for all projects and does so by staying in close contact with our administration and project fulfillment teams. While Derek also occupies an operational role, he is truly passionate about working with customers; getting out there and meeting new people and organizations - helping them achieve their technology objectives, always brings a smile to his face. Derek is passionate about sparkAV, and he is not afraid to take challenges, especially if it leads to finding new and meaningful solutions for sparkAV to offer to its customers. Derek always goes the extra mile to make sure that working with sparkAV is the most positive and enjoyable experience possible.
