About this Event
Enjoy one of choral music's most beautiful and inspiring works. Fauré's Requiem in d minor, op. 48 , is a breakthrough piece both for the novel way that Fauré uses the choir and orchestra and for his focus on peaceful rest rather than judgement. Fauré wrote that this work "is dominated from beginning to end by a very human feeling of faith in eternal rest.” It is a perfect example of French art at its best.
Our fall concert will feature the NWVA Olympia professional chamber choir, made up of some of the finest vocalists in our area, and the NWVA Evergreen youth choir performing other contemplative works including Jake Runestad’s Come to the Woods. Samuel Barbara, Executive and Artistic Director of NWVA says of the new season, “We are so excited to be starting our third season and I believe it is a critical part of any strong choral organization to regularly perform the great choral orchestral masterworks.”
