Join us for some autumn vegetation clearance work on the WART reserve at Kenilworth common. We will be cutting back the bracken and bramble growth and pulling up birch seedlings to maintain areas of open habitat. We will be on site from 10am. Rakes, shears, loppers or secateurs would be useful but not necessary. Please wear sturdy footwear, weather-appropriate clothing, heavy trousers and thick gardening/work gloves. You may also wish to bring something to eat and drink
We will be on site from 10am but you are welcome to join us at any time. We will be there until mid-late afternoon depending on the weather and how much we get done. For those of you who haven't been before the reserve is an old railway siding next to where Kenilworth greenway runs parallel to the Coventry-Leamington railway line (look out for the gate). If you are travelling by car there is on-street parking on Forge Road and Woodmill Meadow, and a layby with a couple of spaces on Common Lane.
The grid reference for the reserve itself is SP29767303, What3words: friend.only.echo
This event is for members only to ensure that all participants are covered by insurance but we welcome new members signing up on the day.
We hope to see some of you there!
