Join Walton Voices for an uplifting autumn concert celebrating the beauty, power and wonder of the natural world. At the heart of the programme is Matthew Coleridge's joyful and uplifting cantata The Breath of Life, a radiant new work inspired by nature and the breath that sustains all living things. From the shimmering stillness of its opening to its elemental evocation of thunder, vivid echoes of the natural world and warmth of hymn-like praise, the music brims with rhythmic energy, lyrical beauty and emotional depth.
"A warm glow of hopefulness for the future." ★★★★ BBC Music Magazine
“Matthew Coleridge is a great force for good in the choral world” Alexander Armstrong, Classic FM
The first half of the concert will feature a selection of contemporary choral works also inspired by nature, including Dan Forrest's The Peace of Wild Things, exploring themes of renewal, hope, stillness and wonder.
From moments of quiet reflection to passages of soaring energy and joy, this promises to be an inspiring afternoon of beautiful music celebrating the world around us.
