WHAT:
Autism Speaks invites the Chicagoland community to participate in the Empower Summit & Challenge a two-day event designed to provide education resources and support while raising critical funds for autism programs and advocacy. The Empower Challenge on Saturday May 3 is an inclusive movement-focused fundraiser that encourages participants of all abilities to get active and show their support.
WHO:
Open to individuals with autism families caregivers educators advocates and community supporters. Media opportunities include interviews with:
Autism Speaks leadershipLocal families and individuals impacted by autismEvent speakers and participants. On day two participants choose to run ride or walk with the community to raise funds drive awareness and demonstrate what inclusion and belonging looks like. A fun-filled festival with entertainment activities and a resource fair will take place once the challenge commences.
WHY:
With autism affecting 1 in 36 children and 1 in 45 adults in the U.S. Autism Speaks is committed to foster an inclusive world where all individuals with autism can reach their full potential.
The Empower Summit & Challenge brings the community together to celebrate differencespromote acceptance and provide valuable resources while raising funds to support research advocacy and essential services.

FEE:
Registration for the Walk: No registration fee fundraising is highly encouraged. Every participant that raises $100+ will receive a T-shirt.
Registration for the 5k Run: $50 increases to $60 three weeks from the event
Registration for the 10k Run: $75 registration fee increases to $90 three weeks from the event
Registration for the 10 Mile Cycle: $75 registration fee increases to $90 three weeks from the event
Registration for the 30 Mile Cycle: $100 registration fee increases to $115 three weeks from the event
