We’re thrilled to welcome Natalie Silverstein to Bedford Books!
She’ll be in conversation with our dear friend and grief specialist, Barri Leiner Grant, about her new book, Simple Acts of Care: How to Help When Loved Ones are Hurting.
Copies of her book will be available for sale and signing, and light refreshments will be served. Ticket price includes a $20 shopping credit to use at the event.
ABOUT NATALIE SILVERSTEIN
Natalie Silverstein is an author, speaker, nonprofit founder, and podcast host. She is the author of two books on kindness and service: Simple Acts: The Busy Family’s Guide to Giving Back (2019), which was named one of the Top Books for Parents Who Want to Raise Kind Kids by the HuffPost, and Simple Acts: The Busy Teen’s Guide to Making a Difference (2022). Natalie also hosts Big Impact: Celebrating Teen Changemakers. Along with her husband, she co-founded The Silverstein Foundation for Parkinson’s with GBA. She is a founding member of Impact 100 NYC, a women’s giving circle that supports transformational nonprofits in New York City, and serves as the Development Chair of the Riley’s Way Foundation, which is empowering the next generation of kind leaders. Natalie holds a master’s degree in public health from Yale University. She is the mother of three grown children and lives in New York City with her husband, Jonathan.
ABOUT BARRI LEINER GRANT
Barri Leiner Grant is the Chief Grief Officer™ of The Memory Circle. Grant left her career as a publicist and reporter to pursue full-time work as a Certified Grief Coach, ICF. She has studied with leading names in the grief space, including grief certification with Claire Bidwell Smith, Hope Edelman, David Kessler, and Dora Carpenter. She combines her writing background and yoga/meditation training to craft a one-of-a-kind way forward. She believes that with her grief-tending techniques, we can honor and learn to live with loss. Her work has been featured in The Washington Post, Psychology Today, essays on Maria Shriver’s Sunday Paper and Zibby Magazine, and on award-winning podcasts, television appearances, and radio shows.
