About this Event
Join us in store Thursday November 12th at 6pm as local Karen Dobres (former director at Lewes FC) discusses her recent paperback 'Pitch Invasion: My story as a woman on a Football Club board' and how she helped lead the charge for challenging the inherent hegemony within football across the UK.
Highly commended at the Charles Tyrwhitt Sports Writing Award (2026)
‘What’s it like to be director of the first football club in the world to pay men and women equally? Inspiring, insightful and hilarious, this is the real-life Ted Lasso. A brilliant celebration of football, community and feminism.’

‘A fascinating, extraordinary and self-deprecating personal story, this feminist book by a former model is powerful anthem for women’s football.’
– Steph Hilborne, CEO Women in Sport
