About this Event
Join us for an author panel discussion at Sale library on Monday November 9th. authors Carys Bray, Marnie Riches and David Swan will be discussing the writers that inspire them. There will be an audience Q&A with the authors at the end.
The event will be a great opportunity for readers and writers alike to hear from and engage with experienced, published authors.
Authors included:
Carys Bray
Carys Bray is the author of a short story collection and three novels. Her debut novel was shortlisted for the Costa Book Award and her work has been broadcast on BBC Radio Four’s Afternoon Reading and Book at Bedtime slots. Carys is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature.
David Swann
As Cumbria University’s RLF Fellow, David Swann helps nurses and paramedics with their essays. His novella, Season of Bright Sorrow was 2023 Rubery Book of the Year. Dave’s books include The Privilege of Rain, shortlisted in the Ted Hughes Prize for its evocation of a Pr*son residency. In 2025, Dave was Blackburn Rovers’ club poet.
Marnie Riches
Since 2015 publication of her award-winning debut, The Girl Who Wouldn’t Die, Marnie Riches has become a bestselling contributor to the crime fiction genre, selling hundreds of thousands of books internationally. She also writes historical romance as Maggie Campbell and teaches for the Royal Literary Fund. Her latest novel is gardening-themed cosy mystery, Pushing Up the Daisies.
