An evening of Indigenous storytelling, author readings, meaningful conversation and community inspired by Stories from the Fire.
Join Pass the Sage for an evening of storytelling, reflection and community.
Inspired by the anthology Stories from the Fire, Teachings from the Smoke, this gathering brings together contributing authors to share the stories behind their writing, read selections from the book and take part in a meaningful panel conversation.
Created in collaboration with the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW) and Octopus Books, the evening creates space to listen to Indigenous voices, learn through lived experience and explore the role storytelling can play in healing, connection and reconciliation.
Guests will have the opportunity to hear directly from authors, participate in a community Q&A, connect with others, and enjoy food and refreshments.

Whether you've been participating in the OASW book club, have already read the anthology, or are discovering Stories from the Fire for the first time, you are welcome.
You do not need to have read the book beforehand to attend. If you buy the book from Octopus Books you will be given a code for the event.
