Join former Minnesota governor Mark Dayton for a conversation with journalist Lori Sturdevant about his memoir Perseverance.Born into a prominent Minnesota family, Dayton chose a path of public service shaped by a belief in social responsibility. In Perseverance, he reflects candidly on his life and career—from a challenging upbringing to his roles as state auditor, U.S. senator, and two-term governor. Offering insight into the realities of political life, Dayton shares both achievements and missteps, as well as tributes to the lasting influence of renowned figures in Minnesota politics.
Through personal stories and thoughtful perspective, Dayton provides a revealing look at leadership, public service, and today’s climate.
The program begins at 2:00 pm in the 3M Auditorium and is pay-what-you-will with a $10 suggested ticket price. It will include a conversation, Q&A, and book signing. Copies of Perseverance will be available for purchase.
Mark Dayton served two terms as the fortieth governor of Minnesota, from 2011 to 2019. His other elected offices include state auditor and U.S. senator. Dayton lives in Minnesota.
