About this Event

Australian Strength and Conditioning Association (ASCA) Level 1


Build strong foundations in strength & conditioning through a combination of essential theory, practical coaching and hands-on learning.

The ASCA Level 1 Strength and Conditioning Coach Accreditation Course provides participants with the fundamental knowledge and practical skills to understand, apply and design strength & conditioning programs for athletes from club through to state level.

Delivered face-to-face, the course combines theory with practical application, with participants learning, coaching and applying key S&C principles throughout the course.


Who is it for?

The course is suitable for developing S&C coaches, physiotherapists and rehabilitation practitioners, sports coaches, personal trainers, PE teachers, sports and exercise science students, and athletes interested in developing their knowledge of strength & conditioning.

Participants must be 18 years of age or older.


What will we cover?

The course introduces key areas of strength & conditioning, including:

  • Strength training and exercise prescription
  • Coaching and teaching key exercises
  • Speed and agility
  • Energy system conditioning
  • Testing and benchmarking
  • Flexibility and mobility
  • Warm-up and recovery
  • Program design and periodisation
  • Communication and coaching practice
  • Fundamental sports nutrition

ASCA Level 1 Accreditation

This is an ASCA accreditation course and includes pre-course learning, two days of face-to-face theory and practical education, in-course assessment and post-course requirements.

Participants must complete all required components to be eligible for ASCA Level 1 Coach Accreditation.
