About this Event
The Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha is celebrating Australian Pollinator Week by exploring the fascinating world of plant pollination. Over 75% of the world’s flowering plants are pollinated by insects. Globally, pollinator species are under threat - which puts many of our favourite foods at risk.
Bring a special pollinator-friendly picnic - and spend the day buzzing between our free activities. Citizen scientists of all ages can take part in the Australian pollinator count, where the whole family can get involved.
There’s something for everyone this free, family day out celebrating Australia’s precious pollinators!
Please wear a hat and enclosed shoes; and bring a pollinator-friendly picnic lunch.
Meet at the Kitchen garden.
This event supports the Botanic Gardens’ commitment to creating a plant loving community dedicated to putting the plant back into Planet.
Drop-ins on the day are welcome.
