Aurora & Antheia, a magnificent Michigan musical trio composed of Carolyn Koebel, Cori Beth Somers, and Laurie Jarski, will join 4 members of the powerhouse spoken word ensemble, Voices of the Revolution — Shelia Burks, Tari Muniz, Lisa Sarno, and Ruelaine Stokes — in a concert honoring the enduring struggle for community, love, and justice — even in the face of oppression.Aurora & Antheia is a trio dedicated to cultivating the beauty of melody, rhythm, texture, and in-the-moment improvisation. Their work creates immersive soundscapes that invite peace, transcendence, self-reflection, and love.
Voices of the Revolution is an eclectic ensemble of feminist voices speaking truth and justice through spoken word. Established in 2018 and based in Lansing, Michigan, they perform in libraries, community centers, churches, art galleries, and music festivals, including the National Women’s Music Festival and the Women in the Arts Festival.
The concert will take place on Friday, Sept. 18, at 7:30 PM at the University Lutheran Church, 1020 S. Harrison Road, East Lansing. Free parking is available behind the church.
