Bram Stoker's DRACULA

FOR THOSE AUDITIONING FOR DRACULA
- Roles available for teens, adults, and three youth approximately 10-12 years of age
- Please be prepared to stay for the entire audition time
- No preparation is required as we will be doing sides and cold readings from the script
- Backstage positions are also available, please fill out the audition/participation form if interested.
- Please dress prepared to move. Shoes must be removed when entering the studio, you are welcome to bring dance shoes or other indoor footwear but it is not required.
Performance Dates: October 22nd-November 1st
• Technical rehearsals start on Sunday, October 11th with alternating dates at APU Grant Hall and the TBA Studio. All scheduled rehearsals at held APU Grant Hall are required – no conflicts will be accepted. Conflicts after Sunday, October 11th may effect whether or not you can be cast.
• Performances are preview/final dress Thursday (Oct 22 & 29), Friday (Oct 23 &30), and Saturday (Oct 24 & 31), Sunday (Oct 25 & Nov 1) at 7pm; with school matinees October 26 and 27.
• Mandatory strike & load out on Monday, November 2nd.
• Call times for performances are 2 hours before show time.
• Rehearsals are generally Monday-Friday from 6pm-9pm with some Saturdays & Sundays.
• All performances & tech rehearsals take place at the Alaska Pacific University.
Roles Available for ages 10 and up:
Jonathan Harker – An ambitious young British lawyer who has recently experienced trauma.
Lucy Westenra – A spirited, forward thinking young British lady.
Mrs. Westenra – Lucy’s mother.
Mina Murray – Harker’s fiancée. A grounded woman of proper British morals.
Arthur Holmwood – A young British Lord who is in love with Lucy.
Quincy Morris - A tough but charming Texan, suitor to Lucy.
Dr. Jack Seward - A British physician of the insane, suitor to Lucy.
Renfield – A tortured, delusional mental patient of Dr. Seward.
Abraham Van Helsing – A Dutch professor who is a fearless scholar of folkore and the supernatural.
Swales – A Yorkshire man employed by Arthur as head of his serving staff.
Alan – A gentleman and friend to Lord Arthur.
Mary and Olivia – Young girls of Whitby. One becomes an undead victim of Dracula.
Sydney – A young boy of Whitby.
Edith and Nora - young British society ladies who become Nosferatu – soulless, bloodthirsty brides of Dracula.
Jane – A servant in Arthur’s household. Becomes a Nosferatu.
Dracula – An undead Count of Transylvania. Charming, powerful, mysterious.
Rom Baro (or Rom Bari) – the head of the family/leader of the Roma who serve Count Dracula.
Servants of Dracula - Romani people and other Travelers bound by the Count’s will.

BORIS & NATASHA’S DEAD-FUL DISCO DANCE-OFF

The vampire siblings are putting on a gruesome dance competition and all the best creatures are going to boogie down dead in this hilarious musical Halloween treat.

- Roles available for teens and adults

- Please prepare a 1-2 minute song. Can be upbeat musical theatre, pop, or disco style.

Jeepers Creepers – The ghost host with the most. Introduces Disco music to Nightmare Hollow
Boris – A classic vampire. He is the brother to Natasha. One of Witch Hazel’s would-be dance partners.
Natasha – A seductive Vampiress. She is fiercely protective of her brother and her family’s ancient royal reputation.
Davy Jones – A Zombie ship captain from The Bermuda Triangle. The self-styled “Dancin’ Demon of the Caribbean.” He is Hazel’s second would-be dance partner.
Joe Ho Tep – A 3000 year-old teen-age mummy. On a quest to find out what “Disco” is for Mayeye. He is Hazel’s third would-be dance partner.
Witch Hazel – She is a classic stripy socked, pointy hatted witch. Young and naive she is stunned to be the center of so much romantic attention.
Mother Mayeye – The senior witch of the coven she is the witchiest witch! Her socks are the stripiest, her hat the pointiest, her broom has the most bristles. Eager to remain hip, she is on a quest to learn what “Disco” is.
Goodie Gumdrop – A flirty witch who is used to having all the male attention and is stunned to find that Hazel is getting it instead.
Wolfie – A pet werewolf. Looks like a wolfman, dresses like a wolfman. Acts like a dog.
