ABOUT THE SHOW:
Winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, HARVEY is one of the most treasured plays in the American theatre, and has the distinction of being one of longest-running comedies in Broadway and West End history, as well as adapted into multiple film adaptations – most notably the 1950 film starring Jimmy Stewart. This endearing and hilarious play tells the story of the charming Elwood P. Dowd and his best friend, Harvey, who happens to be a six-foot-tall invisible rabbit. Elwood’s choice of friends doesn’t mesh with the socialite lifestyle of his sister, Veta, who is determined to save her family’s reputation (and her brother’s sanity). What follows is both a comedy of errors and a touching family drama about accepting and loving each other for who we truly are.

ABOUT AUDITIONS:
Director Stephanie Finn is looking for a talented, diverse cast AGES 18 AND UP to play the roles described at THIS LINK: https://shorturl.at/RXQpD
Initial auditions will consist of individual monologues. You may perform a monologue of your choosing (no longer than 2 minutes), or you may choose one of the provided monologues from the show in the folder linked below. If you choose to perform a monologue from HARVEY, it does not necessarily need to be for a character you are interested in. Memorization is not required, but we strongly encourage you to be comfortable with the piece you are choosing. After you have performed your monologue, you are free to leave. HARVEY monologues can be found in this folder: https://shorturl.at/jjYt5
Scene readings will be at callbacks, so there is nothing to prepare in that regard for initial auditions, but Stephanie recommends that you familiarize yourself with the story and the script if possible. Copies of the script are available upon request (email [email protected]).
