It is 1986 in the high-stakes world of military justice: A Few Good Men is a gripping courtroom drama where duty, loyalty, and moral courage collide. When two young Marines stand accused of a crime that spirals far beyond a simple chain of command, a reluctant lawyer and a determined investigator are forced to confront a system where honor and truth don’t always align. Sharp, fast
paced, and emotionally charged, this is a play that demands precision, intensity, and fearless performances; offering actors the chance to tackle complex characters, crackling dialogue, and
moments of explosive confrontation.
Content: This production contains themes of military violence, hazing and abuse, death, strong language, and intense courtroom conflict.
𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝘂𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗲𝘀
While this production embraces gender-blind casting, roles will remain grounded in the script’s defined character identities to support the integrity of the story set in 1980s USA Military.
Accents: Generic American accents required for all characters except Lt Kendrick who requires a Southern accent.
Hair: Characters portraying military personnel will be required to have appropriate military haircuts consistent with their role. Military haircuts will be done by a professional hairdresser and will be
filmed as part of promotional material & fundraising event for veteran mental health charity.

LT. CMDR. JOANNE GALLOWAY: Driven, intelligent, morally relentless. Strong presence. (Stage age 28-35)
LT. SAM WEINBERG: Dry wit, pragmatic, grounded moral centre. (Stage age 30-40)
LANCE CPL. HAROLD DAWSON: Rigid, loyal, controlled intensity. (Stage age 22-28)
PFC. LOUDEN DOWNEY: Nervous, eager, emotionally exposed. (Stage age 18-24)
LT. JACK ROSS: Confident, polished, competitive. Courtroom charisma (Stage age 30-45)
LT. JONATHAN JAMES KENDRICK: Disciplined, tightly wound, defensive, religious. (Stage age 30-40)
CAPT. MATTHEW MARKINSON: Haunted, conflicted, burdened. (Stage age 45-60)
PFC. WILLIAM SANTIAGO: Vulnerable, desperate, fearful. (Stage 18-24)
CAPT. ISAAK WHITAKER: Procedural, composed, efficient. Quiet, dry wit/authority (Stage age 40-60)
CORPORAL JEFFREY OWEN HOWARD: Sharp, observant, guarded: Uncomfortable witness (Stage 18-24)
CAPT. JULIUS ALEXANDER RANDOLPH: Formal, measured, institutional judge. Steady command presence (Stage age 55+)
COMMANDER WALTER STONE: Medical doctor, experienced, diplomatic, politically aware (Stage age 40+)
ADDITIONAL MARINES, MPS AND LAWYERS are required for scene presence and understudy roles.
New to theatre? We warmly encourage you to audition - these roles have fewer lines but play an important part in creating the world of the production, calling for strong presence and believable military professionalism (Stage ages 18+)
