Frequently Asked QuestionsWhen and where is it?
The Auburn Deer Rodeo Finale will be held on Saturday, December 5th, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Reynolds Outdoors in Opelika, Alabama.
What happens when I arrive with a deer?
When you pull in, you’ll receive a tag and a quick form to fill out, then move through the deer drop-off area. The Venison Provisions team will handle processing and distribution.
Is there a cost to participate?
There is no required cost to donate a deer. An optional $20 donation with each deer will cover the processing fees and earn you an entry into the raffle. You can still donate your deer without the $20 donation, but you will not be eligible for raffle prizes.
Can I still come if I don’t harvest a deer?
Absolutely! There will be live music and food, so come hang out. We want this to be a wholesome community event for everyone.
Do I need a hunting license to participate?
Yes. All deer must be legally harvested under Alabama hunting regulations.
Can youth hunters participate?
Definitely! This is a family-friendly event, and we encourage young hunters to get involved and experience the joy of giving back.
Can I bring a buck or doe?
Yes! Either can be donated as long as the deer was legally harvested under Alabama deer harvest regulations.
Does the deer need to be field dressed?
No. The deer does not need to be field dressed before you bring it to the event.
What tag or paperwork do I need with my deer?
The deer must have a harvest number, and a form must be completed for the processor. The processors will provide the necessary form when you drop off your deer.
