At the museum: Star Gazing, Constellation Mapping, and Greek Myths

Start off the New Year at the National Hellenic Museum on Friday, January 2, 2026 from 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM to learn about the constellations connected to Greek mythological stories and map your own constellation to take home.

This event takes place near the Winter Solstice, when we observe the shortest and darkest days in the Northern hemisphere. We'll explore the astronomy and mythology of the constellations connected to the "Winter Triangle" stars, the three brightest stars in the night sky this time of year (Sirius, Betelgeuse, Procyon). Then we will map these constellations on a canvas that you can take home!

All ages are welcome, but children under 14 years old must have a parent/guardian present. The price of this event is $10/adult & $8/child for members and $12/adult & $10/child for non-members.
