ASM’s “BLACK SATURDAY” SPACE MEMORABILIA SHOW
NOV. 28TH at HYATT PLACE TITUSVILLE 9 am-3 pm
Holiday shopping for that space lover on your list is as easy as visiting the American Space Museum’s “Black Saturday” Space Memorabilia Show on Nov. 28th from 9 am to 3 pm at Hyatt Place Titusville, where a dozen vendors will be geared up with space treasurers.
Featured will be author and NASA worker Art Edwards, signing his new book, “African Americans at America’s Spaceport,” from 10 am to 1 pm.
Not only is admission free, but you can get a free appraisal of your space swag by the event sponsor, Space Coast Covers Service, Merritt Island, owned by space collectables expert Ken Havekotte. Bring those autographs to be authenticated or that box of grandpa’s Apollo stuff to be valued.
Vendors will bring many unique items from America’s Space Age,including unique Christmas ornaments. There will be a variety of space flown items like coins and flags, lots of astronaut autographs, books, posters, original artwork and even rare, hard-to-find items from the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo Moon program and the Space Shuttle Era.
The American Space Museum offers two space memorabilia shows a year in February and November at the Hyatt Place Titusville, as well the annual fundraiser, ShuttleFest, this year June 11-13 at Cocoa Beach Hilton.
ASM is home of the popular YouTube video podcast “Stay Curious,” featuring conversations with space workers, astronauts and celebrating historical events. Space history and current events can also be found on its Facebook page and website.
The events are part of their outreach to support their Brevard County non-profit, a Florida 501(c)(3) institution as the U.S. Space Walk of Fame Foundation. A grant from the Space Coast Office of Tourism supports museum events.
