Ask a Birder at Corn Creek in the Desert National Wildlife Refuge provides you with the chance to talk with a birder from the Red Rock Audubon Society and the Refuge! The Ask a Birder station will be set up by the orchard on Coyote Loop trail on Monday, October 12th from 9:00 - 11:00 am. Audubon and Refuge staff will be available with binoculars and a resource table, ready to chat about birds and fall migration. Desert National Wildlife Refuge is the largest wildlife refuge in the lower 48 states and totals a vast 1.6 million acres. Its six mountain ranges and seven distinct life zones, support over 500 plant species and 320 bird species. The Corn Creek area is home to a perennial spring that has flowed for thousands of years, sustaining lush vegetation and habitat for wildlife.
