Experience music, art, and a little Halloween magic with Sound & Story!
This October, Sound & Story gets a festive Halloween twist at the Herrig Art Center. Come dressed in your Halloween best or as your favorite Broadway character and get ready for an evening of live music, creativity, costumes, and fun.
The evening begins at 5 PM with a social hour, featuring a cash bar, mingling, and time to explore the Herrig Art Center galleries. Then, from 6–7 PM, vocalist Delores McKenzie takes the stage with her dynamic voice and infectious energy for a performance filled with Broadway favorites, nostalgic hits, and Halloween-inspired fun.
Enjoy songs inspired by beloved productions like Beetlejuice and The Rocky Horror Picture Show, along with familiar sing-along favorites from Michael Jackson and other pop icons.
But Sound & Story isn’t just a concert. As Delores performs, guests will be invited to paint, draw, sing along, and let their creativity take the lead. Live performance and visual art come together in an immersive, interactive experience that invites you to listen, create, and connect in a deeper and more personal way.
Part of Sarasota Performing Arts Foundation’s ArtSELF initiative, Sound & Story is designed to spark creativity, support wellness, and bring people together through shared artistic experiences. This playful Halloween edition taps into the joy and nostalgia of the season, offering an opportunity to reconnect with your inner child and experience music and art side by side.
No artistic experience is necessary. Just come ready to listen, create, and have fun!
