Artists in Motion is a multidisciplinary workshop by Lofty Pursuits, hosted in partnership with Nafasi on Centre, a cultural space in Pittsburgh’s historic Hill District dedicated to celebrating Black creativity, cultural connection, and community engagement. Nafasi’s commitment to supporting artists and creating opportunities for collaboration makes it a meaningful home for this gathering.
Lofty Pursuits is an independent creative practice rooted in multi-disciplinary arts, collaboration, and community. We believe creativity is essential to collective wellness, and that artists deserve spaces where they can explore ideas, connect with one another, and receive support throughout their creative journeys.
Artists in Motion is designed for artists of all mediums and experience levels who want to spend time with the ideas that are still taking shape. Through introspection, planning, and collaborative conversation, participants will explore their creative processes, work through challenges, and discover new ways to bring their ideas into fruition. This is not a workshop focused on producing finished work; it is an opportunity to slow down, ask questions, and give attention to the often-unseen planning that makes creative work possible.
The workshop will include guided activities, open conversation, and time to reflect on your own practice while learning from other artists. Light refreshments will be provided, and space is limited to 20 participants to support a more intimate and participatory experience. Artists in Motion will recur in multiple locations, with additional dates and locations to be announced.
