ARTIST TALK | STEPHEN BRANDER: RIGMAROLEA ridiculous journey. An unexpected place. And a whole lot of wonderfully unexpected art!
Join us on Saturday, December 5 at 1 PM for an afternoon with New Brunswick folk artist Stephen Brander, the creative mind behind Fiddler's Folk Art.
After a career in marketing and advertising, Stephen picked up a piece of wood at the age of 55 and decided to see where his imagination might take him. What followed was an unexpected creative adventure filled with colourful carvings, whimsical paintings, quirky characters, and plenty of humour.
His current exhibition, Rigmarole, brings together an imaginative collection of whatnots, furthermores, and wonderfully peculiar creations that celebrate curiosity, storytelling, and the joy of making things.
During this artist talk, Stephen will share the story of his journey into folk art, the inspiration behind his work, and how his creative process has evolved. We'll also learn more about the personal connection behind Fiddler's Folk Art, named in honour of his late father's blacksmith shop, Fiddler's Forge.
Come meet Stephen, hear the stories behind the art, and enjoy an afternoon of creativity and conversation. There are bound to be a few laughs along the way!
