Through ceramics, painting, and collage, Charlotte-based ceramic artist Grace Stott explores her family’s heritage, motherhood, and the objects that fill our daily lives. Her work reflects her journey toward accepting herself as an imperfect person and finding joy at every opportunity.Stott attended the California Institute of the Arts and completed her degree at Tufts University in Massachusetts, specializing in painting. After returning to Charlotte, she became one of the founding collective members of Goodyear Arts, a multidisciplinary artist collective. She quickly built a community of admirers and fellow makers who were curious to see where her portals would take them.
Stott joins Chief Curator and Curator of Contemporary Art Jen Sudul-Edwards, PhD, to discuss her Constellation CLT installation, as well her practice and process.
